Breast cancer and diabetes are prevalent health issues in Malaysia, with increasing statistics year by year. Therefore, the residents of Ipoh need to adopt a healthy lifestyle and prioritize their health.

Mayor of Ipoh commended Perak Community Specialist Hospital for organizing a dual awareness campaign about early detection of breast cancer and diabetes. He expressed that this initiative is a great way to educate the local community and encourage them to learn about healthy eating through various activities, including:

  • Free health screenings.
  • Healthy cooking demonstrations by Chef V-Life and PCSH dietitians.
  • Fashion shows featuring breast cancer survivors and models from International IPOH Fashion Week (IIFW).
  • Motivational talks by Cik Sharole Chee, a former breast cancer survivor.
This campaign also aims to raise awareness about the importance of early detection, such as mammograms and blood sugar tests, to prevent breast cancer and diabetes.

Under the slogan “Early Detection Saves Lives,” Perak Community Specialist Hospital is providing health screening vouchers, including one hundred (100) mammogram and ultrasound vouchers for early breast cancer detection and one hundred (100) comprehensive diabetes health checkup vouchers valued at over RM30,000 to distribute to those in need.

This collaborative effort is a strategic and intelligent partnership between Perak Community Specialist Hospital, Kinta Properties, IIFW, and other collaborating partners. It is hoped that these efforts will continue in the future to help reduce the incidence of breast cancer and diabetes.
