More than 3,000 football fans gathered at Dataran Bandaraya Ipoh this morning to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 third-place playoff on the giant screen between France and England.
The thrilling match saw England defeat France 6-4, securing third place in the world’s most prestigious football tournament.
The atmosphere at Dataran Bandaraya Ipoh was lively and filled with excitement as supporters attended with their families and friends to cheer on their favourite teams.
Many visitors also brought picnic mats and portable chairs, creating a relaxed and enjoyable viewing experience while celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and togetherness.
The event was attended by Councillor Muhammad Hamzah bin Dato’ Haji Md Hamdan, an Ipoh City Council (MBI) councillor, who joined city residents in watching the exciting match on the giant screen.
The programme not only gave football fans the opportunity to enjoy the match together but also served as a platform to strengthen community bonds and foster unity among the people of Ipoh.
