YB Tuan Steven Chaw Kam Foon, the State Assemblyman (ADUN) of Menglembu, officiated the opening ceremony of the “Waterfront City” Night Market at Lahat Mines this evening.
The event was also attended by Clr. Tuan Chen Jian Cong, the MBI Council Member for Menglembu Zone, along with Mr. M. Raman A/L Maran, the MBI Director of Urban Health.
Congratulations to the Ipoh Perak Morning and Night Market Association for successfully opening another new night market site, bringing the total number of night markets under the association’s management to nine.
This night market operates every Saturday at Jalan Lahat Mines, near Waterfront City, Lahat Mines, Ipoh. It has been in operation since November 2023, with 120 stalls and 80 vendors licensed by MBI.
The 9th night market is managed by Mr. Wong Kok Hoe, who is no stranger to managing and operating night markets under MBI. His experience and the association’s successful establishment of new sites, good management, and ability to maintain sales momentum have significantly helped small traders around MBI to increase their monthly income.
Therefore, MBI will continue to support and endorse these noble efforts as long as they comply with MBI’s regulations.
