More than 700 Ipoh residents took part in the Merdeka Fun Ride 2026, held last night at Persiaran Bandaraya in front of Ipoh City Council (MBI).
Organised by MBI in conjunction with the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, the event promoted patriotism, healthy living and unity among Ipoh’s multicultural community.
The event featured VIP and Open categories, with Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah joining the VIP ride alongside dignitaries and participants.
The 8.30pm–11pm programme also featured cultural performances by Gema Warisan Budaya MBI and a special performance by Iskandar Projector Band.
Participants had the chance to win RM5,000 worth of lucky draw prizes, while a Pop-Up Market showcased local food, products and businesses, giving local entrepreneurs an opportunity to promote their offerings.
The event provided a platform for the community to come together through recreation while strengthening unity, patriotism and community spirit in Ipoh.
