A momentous event took place in Ipoh as the esteemed Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud, inked a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Syarikat PEBEC Berhad, represented by the distinguished Encik Norali bin Nordin. The occasion marked the commencement of an exciting venture – the construction of a captivating ‘Dinosaur Park’ within the sprawling grounds of Gunung Lang Recreational Park.

The visionary project spans approximately 6 acres and promises to be a true marvel, as it will be the very first of its kind nestled within the Eco Park of Geopark Lembah Kinta. The collaboration between the city and the esteemed company heralds a new era of entertainment and education, showcasing the wonders of prehistoric creatures amidst breathtaking natural landscapes.

The development of the ‘Dinosaur Park’ will unfold in two thoughtfully designed phases, each encompassing a unique set of attractions to captivate visitors of all ages. Phase 1 is set to kick off once all necessary approvals are obtained, with an estimated construction timeline of 6 to 8 months. In this initial phase, the park will boast an impressive collection of 30 static and animatronic dinosaurs, each meticulously crafted to awe and inspire.

Additionally, the ‘Dinosaur Park’ will feature a state-of-the-art Learning Centre spread across approximately 2500 square meters. This educational hub will serve as a haven for knowledge seekers, accommodating up to 100 eager learners at a time. A treasure trove of information awaits within its walls, delving into the fascinating realms of habitat studies, paleontology, and various other enthralling facets of the prehistoric era.

To complement the immersive experience further, visitors will have the opportunity to indulge in retail therapy at the delightful souvenir shops, offering an array of memorabilia to cherish the memories made within the park.

The excitement doesn’t end with Phase 1, as Phase 2 promises to elevate the ‘Dinosaur Park’ to unprecedented heights of wonder. Expected to kick off within a year of the park’s grand opening, Phase 2 will introduce a cutting-edge 3D/4D theater – a cinematic marvel that will transport audiences back in time to witness these ancient creatures in all their glory.

But the thrills don’t stop there, as Phase 2 will also feature a thrilling water play area, where visitors can cool off amidst the warm embrace of the Malaysian climate while immersing themselves in a world of aquatic adventures.

Beyond being a monumental recreational destination, the ‘Dinosaur Park’ carries the noble mission of fostering economic growth and progress. With its alluring appeal, the park is expected to attract a surge of tourists to Perak, boosting the region’s tourism industry and reinvigorating local businesses.
