The Ipoh City Council (MBI) wishes to inform the public that the iconic ‘IPOH’ sign has been safely dismantled to facilitate inspection, repair, and restoration works.
This initiative is being carried out to ensure the structural integrity and physical condition of the sign remain in excellent condition, preserving it as one of Ipoh’s proud and iconic landmarks.
The reinstallation of the ‘IPOH’ sign is expected to be carried out in stages from 4 to 6 August 2026, subject to weather conditions and the smooth progress of on-site works.
MBI seeks the public’s understanding and patience throughout the duration of these works and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
The Ipoh City Council remains committed to ensuring that public facilities and the city’s landmarks are properly maintained for the safety, comfort, and well-being of the community.
