A total of 2,000 containers of bubur lambuk, including bubur cha cha, were distributed to the staff of the Ipoh City Council (MBI) in conjunction with the MBI Bubur Lambuk Programme 2026, organised to enliven the celebration of the Ramadan month.

The handover ceremony of the bubur lambuk was officiated by Y.Bhg. Tuan Zamakhshari bin Hanipah, the Mayor of Ipoh.

Also present to enliven the programme were Y.Bhg. Clr. Dato’ Haji Mazlan bin Abd. Rahman, Mr. Wong Kar Keat, Chief Whip of MBI Councillors, along with members of the council and heads of departments of MBI.

The programme involved the participation of four main groups: Merket Yeop, Kampung Muafakat, Istana Bulan Putih Ramadan Mubarak, and Kampung Sawah, who worked together to prepare the bubur lambuk for distribution to MBI staff.

The Merket Yeop group consisted of the Public Health and Municipal Services Department, Corporate and Public Complaints Unit, Town Planning Department, Internal Audit Unit, and the Perak Urban Transformation Centre.

The Kampung Muafakat group involved the Treasury Department, Community Services and Social Development Department, Parks and Landscape Department, Commissioner of Buildings Branch, and the Quantity Surveying and Procurement Unit.

The Kampung Sawah group consisted of the Public Works Department, Valuation and Property Management Department, Legal Unit, One Stop Centre Unit, Licensing Department, and the Ipoh Doughnut Economy City Secretariat.

The organisation of the MBI Bubur Lambuk Programme 2026 aims to strengthen bonds of friendship among MBI staff while continuing the tradition of cooking and distributing bubur lambuk in conjunction with the arrival of Ramadan.

To further enliven the atmosphere of this annual programme, a Tent Decoration Competition was also held, participated in by the four groups.

In the competition, the Merket Yeop group was crowned champion and brought home a cash prize of RM400. Second place was won by Kampung Muafakat, receiving RM300, while Kampung Sawah secured third place with a prize of RM200. Istana Bulan Putih Ramadan Mubarak came in fourth place and received RM100.

The organisation hopes that programmes like this will continue in the future to strengthen cooperation, togetherness, and the spirit of ukhwah among MBI staff.
