The fourth nuisance removal operation in four years was successfully carried out by the Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) this morning. The operation focused on a long-standing issue involving a senior citizen over 70 years old who had been repeatedly collecting and storing recyclable items at her single-story terrace house, causing environmental disturbances to the surrounding residents.
Despite being taken to court twice and fined during the past four years, the problem persisted. However, today’s operation, which began at 8:30 a.m. and lasted four hours, cleared a total of 710 kg of recyclables and waste, filling three truckloads. The homeowner cooperated with the council, and the items were transported to the Recycling Center at IGB Industrial Area, with the recycling company compensating the homeowner based on the weight of the recyclables.
Moving forward, the homeowner has been advised to engage directly with recycling companies to prevent the accumulation of waste, and MBI has made it clear that stricter legal action will be taken if the issue persists.
We encourage all residents to visit MBI’s Circular Economy Portal to find recycling companies in the area and take part in the “Trash For Cash” initiative.
A big thank you to MBI and PDRM for their dedication and hard work in making Taman Ipoh a cleaner, more harmonious place to live!
