Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin is in Egypt to attend “The World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments (WALRG)“.
He presented the “Financial Sustainability – Key To Unlocking Subnational Finance For Sustainable Urban Development” paper at the conference.
The assembly is being hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).
Among the focus of the meeting was to look into ways to attract funding for cities to develop and manage their overall development, natural resources and human capital.
They also focussed on the new challenges faced by cities around the world.
Surely another international recognition for Ipoh City and its Mayor.
