YBhg. Dato’ Haji Rumaizi bin Baharin @ Md. Daud, the Mayor of Ipoh, and Mr. Roy Ho, the Executive Director of XOX Berhad, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) this morning. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Y.Bhg. Clr. Dato’ Mazlan bin Abd Rahman, Chairman of WHIP Council Members, Ipoh City Council, and Mr. Winson Wong, Chief Operating Officer of XOX Berhad.
This Memorandum of Understanding is an extension of a previous agreement dated May 24, 2022, between XOX Berhad and Ipoh City Council, aimed at strengthening the framework and laying the foundation for formalizing a strategic technology partnership. This partnership covers the following areas:
a) Enhancement of public transportation services through digital electronic applications and other services provided by MBI for Ipoh City;
b) Improvement, development, and expansion of all “Digital Out of Home” media facilities within Ipoh City;
c) Establishment of Electronic Vehicle Charging Stations at strategic locations;
d) Establishment of a digital advertising network;
e) Preparation and assessment of future prospects for the city in various aspects to enhance tourism, business investment, and collective lifestyle improvements.
The intended technological cooperation between MBI and XOX is a collective effort to enhance the current infrastructure and services provided by MBI to the residents and visitors of Ipoh City in terms of lifestyle digitalization. XOX, as a strategic technology partner to MBI, commits to:
a) Enhancing, improving, and developing all available digital facilities, including but not limited to Digital Out of Home media, Electronic Vehicle Charging Stations, and smart self-service machines within Ipoh City;
b) Collaboratively participating in events to encourage tourism, investment, business activities, and the improvement of the collective lifestyle of local residents and visitors to Ipoh.
May this strategic cooperation help achieve the aspiration of making Ipoh a Prosperous Smart City.
