Representatives from the Association of Senior Officers of the Ipoh City Council (PADUAN), En. Muhammad Hafiz Bin Muhyaddin and En. Shahrin Bin Nordin, joined 28 Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) students and their adviser, Miss Laily Murny Bt Kamarulzaman, as part of Project Furry Friends at Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare, Ipoh. This initiative, under the Down to Earth (DTE) program, seeks to promote animal welfare awareness, focusing on the hygiene, health, and care of stray animals, while supporting local shelters.
Alongside MBI representatives, the volunteers engaged in various tasks such as:
- Repainting animal cages.
- Cleaning shelter areas.
- Donating new equipment to improve shelter operations.
The project also highlighted the importance of adopting pets from shelters, fostering a compassionate mindset towards animal welfare. Down to Earth (DTE) is part of UTP’s University Social Responsibility (USR) efforts.
