The Mayor of Ipoh, YBhg. Tuan Zamakhshari bin Hanipah, together with YB Puan Thulsi Thivani a/p Manogaran, State Assembly Member (ADUN) for Buntong, conducted a site visit today to review the current condition and progress of works related to the Jalan Tun Abdul Razak Bridge.
The visit aimed to closely assess the installation process of 12 main girders on the bridge supports, which is one of the critical activities in the upgrading project. It also provided an opportunity for the Mayor to gain first-hand insight at the site, evaluate safety aspects, and identify areas for improvement to ensure the well-being and safety of road users.
During the visit, the Mayor reaffirmed the local authority’s commitment to prioritising safety throughout the implementation period.
He stated: “The safety of road users is our top priority. This site visit is important to ensure that the ongoing works comply with safety standards and are carried out in an orderly manner. The Council will continue to monitor the progress and take necessary improvement measures from time to time to ensure smooth operations and safety for all.”
The Ipoh City Council will continue to work closely with relevant agencies and contractors to ensure that works at the site proceed as planned, while minimising risks and disruptions to road users.
