The Perak State Sports Council (Majlis Sukan Negeri Perak) has officially launched a high-tech hydrotherapy pool aimed at enhancing athlete recovery and rehabilitation. Valued at RM1.92 million, the facility was inaugurated by Perak Chief Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Saarani bin Mohamad, at the Seladang Sports Hub.
During the launch ceremony, Dato’ Seri Saarani highlighted the hydrotherapy pool as a strategic investment to strengthen the scientific and clinical rehabilitation system for athletes. The facility supports faster muscle recovery, reduces joint stress, and promotes comprehensive physical rehabilitation. It is also expected to improve the physical and mental resilience of Perak athletes in preparation for national and international competitions.
However, the Chief Minister emphasized that having advanced facilities alone is not enough to ensure success. He stressed the importance of structured training, continuous monitoring, and strong collaboration among all stakeholders. He also encouraged State Sports Associations to work closely with higher education institutions and sports medicine experts to advance research and innovation in athlete performance and injury management.
In conjunction with the launch, the state government allocated RM90,000 in grants to 45 State Sports Associations, while the Sports and Recreation Association for Persons with Disabilities (PESRON) received RM35,000, bringing the total to RM125,000. These grants aim to support talent development, strengthen organizational capacity, and enhance athlete performance across Perak.
The event also marked the official unveiling of MSN Perak’s new logo.
