Transport Minister, Anthony Loke says private car owners no longer need to show vehicle licence, or road tax, stickers on windscreens starting Friday (Feb 10).
Section 20 of the Road Transport Act, which mandates motor vehicle licences to be displayed on cars, would also be repealed, according to Loke.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Transport Minister stated that the move was part of the Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) digitalization plans for motor vehicle licences and driving licences. He stated that car owners can register for JPJ accounts at https://public.jpj.gov.my/ or use the MyJPJ phone app to access digital motor vehicle licences and driving licences.
