The Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Kinta, in line with the Agenda Nasional Malaysia Sihat and Malaysia Madani, is launching the Influenza Vaccination Program for senior citizens in the district. This initiative aims to protect the elderly from influenza-related complications, particularly those with underlying health conditions.

The program will begin on 18 February 2025 and will be available at Klinik Kesihatan within the Kinta district.

Senior citizens who meet the following criteria are eligible for free influenza immunization at government health clinics:

  • Malaysian citizen
  • 60 years old and above (based on date of birth)
  • At least one comorbid condition (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, heart disease)
  • No contraindications to the influenza vaccine
  • At least one year since the last influenza vaccination

This vaccination is voluntary, and recipients have the choice to accept or decline the vaccine.

How to get the influenza vaccine:

Appointment via MySejahtera:

  • Open the MySejahtera app and log in
  • Go to the “Janji Temu” (Appointment) menu
  • Select Influenza Immunization for Senior Citizens
  • Choose your preferred location, date, and time
  • Confirm the appointment and receive confirmation via the app

Walk-in or appointment at Klinik Kesihatan:
Senior citizens receiving chronic disease treatment at health clinics may be offered the vaccine opportunistically.

Private clinics or hospitals:
If you do not qualify for the free vaccine at Klinik Kesihatan, you can still obtain it at private clinics or hospitals.

Getting vaccinated reduces the risk of severe influenza complications, protects those with chronic conditions from worsening health, and provides peace of mind for both senior citizens and their families.

For more information, contact your nearest Klinik Kesihatan or check the MySejahtera app for appointment bookings.
