Ipoh Mayor Welcomes Sunway’s Healthcare Expansion

Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud, the Mayor of Ipoh, conducted a working visit to Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh.

The visit aimed to assess the healthcare facilities and other amenities available at Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh.

Also present at the event were Toh Amar Pahlawan Dato’ Ahmad Hariri bin Kamarudin, a Council Member of the Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Chairman of MBI’s Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Heritage Subcommittee; Dato’ Lau Beng Long, President of Sunway Healthcare Group; Choy Wah Wei, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh; Wong Wan Wooi, Executive Director of Sunway Property Ipoh; Council Member Tuan Ahmad Munir bin Ishak; the City Secretary; Senior Directors; and department heads of MBI.

In his speech, the Mayor expressed his congratulations on Sunway’s initiative and warmly welcomed the introduction of advanced healthcare facilities, which will greatly benefit the residents of Ipoh.

The development of Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh is expected to bring significant advantages to the community, including access to world-class medical treatment, high-quality medical expertise, improved healthcare standards in the city, and a reduced need for residents to seek treatment outside of Ipoh.

This initiative aligns with the vision of providing high-quality facilities and services that enhance the quality of life for the people of Ipoh.

Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh, built on a 3-acre site with an investment of RM400 million, is set to open on April 2, 2025.
