In a fast-paced world where rest often takes a back seat, a unique experiential art event titled Tidur Lambak is inviting Malaysians to slow down—together.

Taking place on 27 and 28 March 2026, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, this immersive installation transforms a former sawmill at Lingkaran, Lot 59241, Bukit Merah Industrial Estate, Batu 4½, Ipoh into a nostalgic communal resting space reminiscent of “balik kampung” nights.

Organised by Tapir Studio, Tidur Lambak brings together a multidisciplinary creative team led by Taha Long (Director), Kamal Sabran (Sound Artist), and Becca Yeap (Space Designer).

Inside the industrial setting, the space is softened with tikar mats and toto bedding, evoking a familiar kampung living room where families and friends once gathered to sleep side by side. Participants are encouraged to move freely—wander, settle, lie down, or simply be still.

At the heart of the experience is a carefully curated sonic environment guided by Kamal Sabran. Through layered soundscapes of dream confessions, meditative tones, and healing frequencies, the installation creates an intimate atmosphere that blurs the line between public and personal space.

The experience unfolds in two distinct phases:

  • Communal Unwinding — A shared moment where participants gradually slow down together
  • Individual Slumber — A quieter, introspective phase inviting personal rest within a collective setting

Together, these acts dissolve the boundaries between strangers, fostering a rare sense of closeness and calm.

Tickets are affordably priced to encourage wide participation:

  • RM15 — Students & Seniors (55+)
  • RM25 — Adults
  • RM60 — Group of 3
