Not Happy with Your New Property Tax? Here’s How to Object!

Property owners may submit objections if they are dissatisfied with the proposed new Assessment Tax.

This is in line with Section 142 (1) of the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171).

Owners can submit their objections in writing to:

    Director of City Valuation,
    Department of Valuation and Property,
    Ipoh City Council,
    Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil,
    Greentown, 30450 Ipoh,
    Perak Darul Ridzuan

Deadline for objections: 22 November 2024

The department will conduct an investigation on all objection letters received, and objectors will be called to attend the Rating Committee Meeting and Assessment Tax Objection Hearing.

Objectors may authorize a representative to attend the session.

The objector or representative may present grounds for objection during the session.

The committee, consisting of Ipoh City Council Members, will hear, discuss, and weigh the grounds presented before making a decision.

The decision will be communicated to the objector via an official letter 7 days after the objection session.
