The Ipoh City Council and A2Z Charity Organisation inked a MOU to refurbish an abandoned building and store in the Tasek Industrial area to pave way for commercial development and to become an tourist attraction.

The MoU was signed by Ipoh City Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud and the organisation represented by its president Lai Kam Sims at the council’s building  here today.

Also present were councillors, organisation founder Jeff Lai and advisors.

The project is a transformative initiative aimed at breathing new life into a historical building and establishing it’s purpose as a vibrant hub for creativity, culture and commerce.

The revitalisation effort seeks to integrate key elements of art, fashion, food, film, music into the building’s design and programming, creating an inclusive space where “innovation meets heritage”.

Rumaizi said:”The development of the site will rebuild the area as well expand its potential as a commercial centre.

“The project is expected to bring about a positive impact to the city, the location will promote  the country’s unique arts and cultural attraction.

“The cooperation will also project the identity of the city locally and internationally.

“The development process will be announced in phases so that all quarters will benefit,” he added.

The building is located on a  6,770 square metres site belonging to the council.
