The Ipoh City Council (MBI) contingent was announced as the winner of Best Attire and the runner-up in the Marching Category for Local Authorities, Statutory Bodies, the Private Sector, and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
The contingent’s striking appearance, adorned in Malay Warrior attire themed with the slogan “Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka,” captured the judges’ attention. The attire creatively incorporated the colors of the Jalur Gemilang into its design, adding to the overall appeal of the Ipoh City Council’s parade team.
This impressive outfit was designed by Puan Faridah binti Abdul Aziz from the MBI Corporate Planning Department.
The MBI contingent, consisting of 5 officers and 55 marching participants from various departments, began their training on 1 August 2024.
This victory marks one of MBI’s most notable achievements in the Perak State National Day Parade and March.
The success was also credited to the guidance of Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin @ Md Daud, the Mayor of Ipoh, and Tuan Haji Ahmad Munir bin Ishak, the City Secretary.
The win saw the MBI contingent bringing home cash prizes of RM3,000 (runner-up for best marching) and RM5,000 (best attire), as well as certificates presented by His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, the Sultan of Perak Darul Ridzuan.
