Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) held its Back to School program this afternoon, organized by the Community Services Department in collaboration with Puncak Emas Infra Sdn Bhd and Pasaraya Borong Sakan. The initiative aimed to support underprivileged MBI staff children from the B40 category by providing school essentials.
A total of 134 students—67 from secondary and 67 from primary schools—benefited from the program, receiving uniforms, bags, and shoes.
The event was officiated by Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud, Mayor of Ipoh, and attended by MBI council members, representatives from Puncak Emas Infra, Pasaraya Borong Sakan, and MBI department heads.
This initiative hopes to ease parents’ financial burden, ensure students are well-prepared for school, and motivate them to excel academically and personally.
