The Legal Aid Centre/Yayasan Bantuan Guaman Kebangsaan (LAC/YBGK), Perak Sub Committee of the Perak Bar organized a speech on criminal law and drug abuse at Sekolah Menengah Anderson Ipoh. The event, entitled “ Ceramah Undang-Undang Jenayah Juvana & Dadah Dalam Kalangan Pelajar Sekolah”, was aimed at educating students in Forms 4, 5, and 6 about the dangers of drug abuse and the consequences of committing drug related crimes.
The event was attended by 7 LAC/YBGK lawyers, 2 pupils in chambers, and representatives from the LAC/YBGK Secretariat, as well as Puan Kamala Mahlini, the Chairperson of Perak Bar. The keynote speakers, Puan ‘Awatif Bashir, Mr. Parveen Sharma and Puan Nur Syaqira Ibrahim (who was a former magistrate) delivered a captivating speech that covered various aspects of criminal law and drug abuse.
The speeches were engaging, informative, and insightful, covering various aspects of criminal law and drug abuse. They explained the various types of crimes and their legal implications, including the punishment for committing them. They also highlighted the dangers of drug abuse, including its adverse effects on an individual’s physical and mental health and its potential to lead to criminal activities.
The event was well-received by the students, who were given opportunities to ask questions and engage with the speakers. The interactive nature of the event made it engaging and informative, and the students left with a better understanding of the importance of obeying the law and staying away from drugs.
Overall, the “Ceramah Undang-Undang Jenayah Juvana & Dadah Dalam Kalangan Pelajar Sekolah” was a huge success, as it helped students become more aware of the importance of obeying the law and staying away from drugs. It was an excellent initiative by The LAC/YBGK, PERAK which showcased their commitment to educating the public on critical issues affecting society today.
