The repeated vandalism of the women’s surau door at Gunung Lang Recreational Park, despite frequent repairs by the Ipoh City Council (MBI), has occurred again.

According to Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud, the Mayor of Ipoh, this facility was provided to offer comfort to visitors for prayers after recreational activities.

However, deliberate damages have caused MBI to bear the costs of replacement and repair.

Such facilities are for the convenience of Ipoh residents and should not be damaged.

In response, MBI will deploy plainclothes enforcement officers to patrol the recreational areas, including Gunung Lang and Sultan Abdul Aziz Recreational Parks, to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Meanwhile, visitors to Gunung Lang and Sultan Abdul Aziz Recreational Parks are urged not to litter, despite daily cleaning efforts by MBI.

MBI regularly schedules grass cutting activities, but delays have occurred due to minor malfunctions of lawn mowers. However, manual trimming will be carried out promptly, especially for large shaded trees in Gunung Lang Recreational Park, where heavy machinery access is restricted.

Residents of Ipoh are urged to cooperate in preserving these facilities and report any vandalism incidents to MBI via phone at 05-2551515 or WhatsApp at 019-5503083
