Ipoh girl makes history as first Orang Asli to graduate with first-class honours

Susherrie Suki has created history as the first Orang Asli to graduate with first-class honours from the pretigious University College London. The 23-year-old Ipoh lass received a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning and Real Estate from UCL’s Bartlett School of Planning.

Susherrie thanked Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) for financing her studies and her KMS teachers in Negri Sembilan.

Susherrie scored 10As in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia and received a scholarship from Mara’s Young Talent Programme.

Sherrie’s parents, were both Orang Asli from the Semai tribe in Kampung Orang Asli Chinggung in Behrang Ulu, Tanjung Malim, and Kampung Orang Asli Ulu Geruntum in Gopeng

She speaks English, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu and is active on- and off-campus
