The Mayor of Ipoh, YBhg. Tuan Zamakhshari bin Hanipah, officiated the flag-off of the Ipoh Heritage Run 2026, held at Padang Ipoh as part of the celebrations marking the 38th Anniversary of Ipoh City.
The event, which began at 7:00 a.m., attracted strong public participation in the 7km and 5km race categories. Organized by the Ipoh City Council, the run aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle while supporting the city’s anniversary celebrations.
Participants of all ages showed great sportsmanship and enthusiasm, reflecting strong community support for this heritage-themed event. The program also featured lucky draws, entertainment performances, and cultural showcases.
A highlight of the event was the Best Costume Competition prize-giving ceremony, with prizes presented by the Mayor of Ipoh.
The Ipoh Heritage Run 2026 is expected to strengthen community unity, promote Ipoh as an active and harmonious city, and preserve the city’s rich heritage as a source of pride for its residents.
