Junior Chamber International Kinta (JCI Kinta) and Lions Club of Ipoh Midtown will jointly host a Merdeka Blood Donation Event on 31 August 2023(Thursday). The event will be held on the ground floor (Centre court) of Aeon Station 18. The event will officially start from 10 am to 4 pm on 31st August 2023 (Thursday).
The main purpose of this event is to assist National Blood Banks to have a stable blood supply. In simple words, save a life. 【Lend a hand and donate blood, be the reason for someone’s heartbeat】donating blood is like giving the patients hope. To ensure the safety of the donors, there will be professional medical specialists to conduct the flood donation campaign.
They also have the great honor of having our YB Goh See Hua, Member of Parliament of Pasir Pinji to be their guest of honor at the closing ceremony of the event. Other than that. There will also be singing and dancing performances, lucky draws, health talks, AntiScam Talk, and a series of free services, such as free body check-up, free optic eye check-up, free Traditional Chinese Medical check-up, free mental health consultation and others.
For blood donors, special precautions are advised:
● Been over 3 months since that last donation
● NO ALCOHOL for 24 hours before donating
● MUST have sufficient sleep and rest the day before donating
● MUST eat breakfast before donating blood
