YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Housing and Local Government, officiated the CSR Tree Planting Program and Plaque Signing Ceremony organized by Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn Bhd and MBI at Taman Rekreasi Sultan Abdul Aziz this morning.
The event was also attended by YB Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, State Assemblywoman for Canning and Deputy Speaker of the Perak State Assembly, Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud, Mayor of Ipoh, and Mr. Kwan Boon Dat, Executive Director of Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn Bhd.
A total of 1,500 shade trees were contributed by Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn Bhd as part of this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
In his speech, YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming called on more private companies to emulate Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn Bhd in undertaking CSR programs for the betterment of Ipoh City.
This program is a continuation of last year’s effort, during which Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn Bhd contributed and planted nearly 200 shade trees at Hala Perusahaan Menglembu 13 in 2023.
