Get Ready to Rock: Hard Rock Cafe Set to Open Its Doors in Ipoh

In a momentous press conference held Friday, Hard Rock® joined forces with the esteemed Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin @ Md Daud, to announce the upcoming opening of its fifth Hard Rock Cafe in Malaysia. This highly anticipated expansion follows the success of existing outlets across Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, and Penang, marking a significant milestone for the legendary brand as it brings its extraordinary rock and roll experience to Ipoh.

The Rock Shop at Palo 101, situated on Jalan Sultan Iskandar, will serve as the initial phase of Hard Rock Cafe Ipoh’s opening. This exciting retail space will provide a sneak peek into the vibrant atmosphere and offerings that await visitors. Music enthusiasts and food lovers alike are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on the official launch, which promises a dynamic dining experience, a treasure trove of iconic music memorabilia, and a menu featuring classic American dishes.

For Ipoh, this forthcoming addition to its culinary and entertainment scene is not just a mere opening; it represents a significant milestone in the city’s journey towards becoming a prominent tourism destination. Mayor Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin  said he was honoured  that Hard Rock Cafe International’s selection of Ipoh for its new outlet, stating that it aligns perfectly with Visit Ipoh Year 2023.

The Mayor emphasized the positive impact the Hard Rock Cafe will have on tourism, both domestically and internationally. With the city’s ambitious goal of becoming a main tourism destination by 2025, attracting more international brands is crucial. Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin believes that the arrival of Hard Rock Cafe Ipoh will undoubtedly help achieve this objective, drawing in a greater number of tourists, particularly from around the world.

Ipoh’s pursuit of cultural recognition does not end with the arrival of Hard Rock Cafe. The Mayor disclosed plans to petition UNESCO to declare Ipoh a creative city in the arts and music domain. This effort showcases the city’s commitment to fostering artistic and musical excellence, making it a thriving hub for creative expression.

The press conference also saw the attendance of Hard Rock Cafe International’s Vice-President (Asia Pacific), Malcolm Chao, and Tiong Nam Group Hotel and Hospitality’s General Manager, Johnny Lau, further underscoring the significance of the event.
