The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has made history by becoming the first local authority (PBT) to expand its communication and promotional reach via international radio broadcasts. This milestone was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Radiotv Bandar Raya Ipoh (RTBI) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) Radio 91.6 FM earlier today.

According to YBhg. Dato’ Rumaizi Bin Baharin@Md Daud, the initiative is a strategic effort to strengthen the roles of RTBI and UMSU FM. Additionally, the collaboration continues the friendship status established between Ipoh and Medan since 2009.

The MOU signing ceremony, held during MBI’s working visit to Medan, Indonesia, was officiated by UMSU Rector, Professor Dr. Agussani, M.AP, representing UMSU, and Dato’ Rumaizi on behalf of MBI and RTBI. The event was also attended by Tuan Shahril Nizam Abdul Malek, Malaysia’s Consul General in Medan.

Earlier, the Mayor of Ipoh was invited for an interview at UMSU FM 91.6’s radio station alongside UMSU Vice-Rector 3, Associate Professor Dr. Rudianto S.SOS, M.SI. The MOU aims to further enhance relations between MBI and UMSU for the development of both Ipoh and Medan.
