The Big 3 Fun Run proved to be a remarkable event, bringing together over 300 eager participants at the picturesque Botani Ecopark. Organized by the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) and co-organized by the Perak Bar and IEM Perak, the event was a celebration of fitness, community, and fun.
Participants had the option to compete in either the 8km or the 4km fun run, with prizes awarded to winners in both categories. One of the standout moments of the event was the Best Costume Competition, which added an extra layer of excitement to the 4km race. The male winner charmed everyone in a vibrant tiger cartoon costume, while the female winner captivated the crowd in elegant Korean attire.
The morning started with a body combat warm-up session led by Urbax Fitness, which energized the crowd and prepared them for the races ahead. Runners were treated to a simple but satisfying breakfast of buns and water, generously sponsored by 1969 Business Suites Hotel at D’Kelly Hotel.
The event received the gracious support of YB Wong Chai Yii, State Assemblyperson for Simpang Pulai, who made a personal contribution to the success of the fun run. A representative from YB Tan Kar Hing, Member of Parliament for Gopeng, was also in attendance, showing strong backing from local leaders.
Several sponsors played key roles in making the event a success. Fairview International School, Lexus, and Vista Eye Centre contributed to the lively atmosphere by hosting interactive booths, while Taiko Properties provided the scenic venue that perfectly complemented the spirit of the day. The safety of participants was ensured by the Botani Hospital medical team, which included an on-site doctor and an ambulance for any emergencies.
The Big 3 Fun Run was more than just a race; it was a platform for professionals, families, and friends to come together for a day filled with joy, fitness, and camaraderie. The event successfully fostered a strong sense of community, demonstrating the power of collective participation in promoting health and well-being.
