The Perak State Government through the Perak Housing and Property Board (LPHP) is launching a new program called the Prosperous Perak Rental Scheme. The Chief Minister of Perak, Dato’ Seri Saarani bin Mohamad, announced this during the handing over ceremony of Perakku Homes in Taman Serdang, Sitiawan, this afternoon.
“Through this scheme, tenants will be given a 20 percent discount from the current rental rates, benefiting those who are still unable to own their own homes. This program will commence with 12 affordable homes in Perakku Homes in Taman Serdang,,” he explained.
Furthermore, LPHP also proposed to raise the household income eligibility threshold for Low-Cost Home buyers from RM3,860 to RM5,000 per month. “This proposal will be brought to the State Government Council Meeting for consideration in the near future,” he added.
Meanwhile, during the event, he handed over the keys to 447 buyers of Perakku Homes in Taman Serdang, including 100 units of low-cost residences and 347 units of single-storey affordable terrace homes. The development covers an area of 29 acres with a total cost of RM55.3 million.
Also present at the ceremony were the District Chief of Manjung, YDH Toh Seri Bijaya Lieutenant Colonel Dato’ Shaharudin bin Haji Nazari (Retired); Chairman of the Housing and Local Government Committee, Puan Sandrea Ng Shy Ching; District Officer of Pejabat Daerah dan Tanah Manjung, Encik Shamsul Ridzuan bin Idris; Director of Land and Mines Perak, YBhg. Dato’ Haji Mohamad Fariz bin Mohamad Hanip; and CEO of LPHP, Encik Mohamed Akmal bin Dahalan.
