Two succulent enthusiasts from different countries met in the lush world of Yunnan, China, only to discover they were distant relatives and kindred spirits in their love for succulents! Cactus Boy Founder, Koh Kuan Meng, made the fortuitous discovery while seeking for new markets in China, and this newfound connection is thus the precursor to the fourth incarnation of the Succulent Fair at Ipoh Parade, featuring vibrant species that have taken over the Chinese market by a storm and only available at Ipoh Parade for a limited run from 29 November to 1 December 2024.
This fair will feature a hundred varieties of imported succulents from China, including captivating pink-hued varieties like Lavender Pebbles, Echeveria Monroe, Echeveria Snow Angel, and Cream Puff. Some of these look so delectable they might even be mistaken for candy! Additionally, Kuan Meng will also be showcasing his recent haul of unique cacti species from Thailand, which is currently experiencing a boom for these spiky plants.
The main highlight for this Succulent Fair is the inaugural Succulent Auction that will take place on Saturday at 3:30pm, and registered bidders (registration can be completed on-site) might be lucky enough to obtain exclusive collectibles that aren’t generally sold commercially at the auction. The value of the succulents and cacti could range to the thousands, but if they’re lucky, bidders might just walk away with a prized possession at a fraction of the cost… as long as no one else out bids their offer.
Competition is expected to be stiff as the auction will proceed online and offline concurrently. The same will happen to the Lucky Draw Session over the weekend at 9:00pm, where the succulent fervour would be at its peak online and on-site as audiences clamour to see if they are the fortunate chosen few.
Beyond these highlights, the fair will feature a series of interactive activities, offering a platform for succulent and cacti enthusiasts to connect and learn together:
