Ipoh City Council organized a program promoting the use of trash bins and a townhall session for traffic coordination and additional parking in the business area of Taman Pertama, Ipoh. The event was inaugurated by YB Tuan Cheah Pou Hian, the State Assembly Member for Jelapang.
Attended by dignitaries, including Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud, the Mayor of Ipoh, council members, senior directors, and department heads of MBI, the program involved the distribution of 93 units (240 liters) and 29 units (660 liters) of trash bins for commercial establishments and 2562 units (120 liters) for residential homes. This initiative contributes to the city’s goal of creating a clean and healthy environment.
YB Cheah expressed his commitment to monitor and sustain the program, turning Taman Pertama into an exemplary zone. Additionally, 4 CCTV cameras will be installed to address illegal dumping issues. The program aims to instill a shared responsibility for cleanliness and hopes to cultivate a culture of cleanliness from households, fostering a community that values and prioritizes environmental cleanliness and beauty.
The cleanliness program is expected to continue, educating residents of Zone 18 to be more conscientious about cleanliness and serving as an example to others. Simultaneously, a townhall session gathered residents’ opinions on traffic coordination and additional parking in the Taman Pertama business area, aiming to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance user comfort in the region.”
