The Perak Bar’s 2025 Law Conference, themed “Law Unplugged: Real Talk on Real Practice,” brought together an impressive lineup of judges, lawyers, and legal minds for a full day of lively discussion and learning at 1969 D’Kelly Hotel, Ipoh.

The event kicked off with a keynote address by Chief Justice YAA Datuk Seri Utama Wan Ahmad Farid bin Wan Salleh, who spoke passionately about the evolving demands of the legal profession and the need to uphold integrity in every aspect of practice.

YB M. Kula Segaran, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform), also shared insights on ongoing legal reforms to strengthen Malaysia’s justice system.

The welcome address by Mr. B.K. Pillai, Chairman of the Perak Bar Committee, set the tone for open, honest dialogue between the Bench and the Bar — a spirit that carried through the day’s sessions.

Organised by the Perak Bar PSDC Sub-Committee, the 2025 Law Conference was a reminder that the best conversations about law happen when we’re willing to unplug — and speak from experience.
