Mandatory Gloves at Ramadan Bazaar

At the Ramadan bazaar, all vendors and food handlers must wear gloves to ensure food cleanliness. A. Sivanesan, Chairman of the Perak Health Committee, stressed this directive’s importance. Since May 13, the Health Department inspected 1,704 stalls, issuing 16 summonses for violations, including lack of typhoid vaccinations. Over 4,000 food handlers were inspected, with 61 food samples analyzed. Sivanesan emphasized collaborative efforts among health authorities and warned of strict action against non-compliance. This measure aims to prevent foodborne illnesses, such as those seen in Titi Gantung, Bota, last year.
