Calling All Creators: 3rd Malaysian Horror/Thriller Movie Screenwriting Contest by Kuman Pictures in collaboration with @redcommfilms!
1. Explore your creativity by submitting an original screenplay set in Malaysia for a captivating small-scale horror or thriller feature film.
2. Open to writers of all ages, nationalities, and experience levels.
3. Scripts accepted in either Malay or English. For non-Malay dialogue, include the actual lines in brackets (Chinese, Tamil, Kadazan, Iban, etc.).
4. Aim for a suggested length of 70-100 pages, following proper screenwriting format and saved as a PDF.
5. Dive into the horror or thriller genre; ghosts and killings are optional – let your imagination run wild!
6. Ideally, limit speaking parts to 10 and major locations to 3, although flexibility is granted.
7. Only one screenplay will be selected, with the possibility of a shortlist. The winner receives RM20,000 and 1% of the film’s income on all platforms.
8. Announcement of the winner in August 2024, with a commitment to shoot the winning screenplay in 2025, directed by Khairi Anwar.
9. Retain copyright of your submitted screenplay.
