My Ipoh was invited to Kiyoshiro Brew to taste test their coffee. It’s located opposite the legendary mamak shop, Nasi Kandar Rahamath in Jalan Dato Sagor.
The employees at Kiyoshiro are known for their warm hospitality, and this is immediately apparent the moment you set foot inside the establishment. The shop may be on the smaller side, but it definitely had a really warm and inviting ambiance; it provided a perfect place to hang out with a friend while relaxing with a cup of coffee. They do provide a space next to the shop if you prefer dining al fresco.
From hot to cold, espressos to frappachinos they have it all but if you’re still unsure of what you should try out, the friendly baristas would be ready to give you their recommendations.
We had such a wide selection of coffees to choose from that it was difficult to make a decision. After much consideration, we decided to order their Kiyoshiro Butterscotch Cream. The coffee had a velvety smooth texture, a rich body, a hint of sweetness, and a delectable flavour that was hard to resist. Mr. Fariz, the owner, informed us that all their coffee is prepared on a daily basis using only Arabica coffee beans that have been roasted and ground to order. When asked why Arabica coffee beans? He said arabica beans have a flavour that is widely regarded as being superior to other bean varieties. Arabica coffee is said to have a taste that is more mellow and sweet, with hints of chocolate and sugar in the flavour and using this bean it will enhance the taste of any flavouring in the coffee.
They also provide a selection of desserts like as burnt cheese cakes and chocolate brownies, and soon they will be adding croffle sandwiches to their menu options.
