At the recently concluded event on January 21, 2024, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Kinta successfully hosted the highly anticipated 2024 JCI Malaysia Area North Academy with over 100 participants from 21 local organizations within the Area North region, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s journey. This accomplishment underscores JCI Kinta’s dedication to fostering leadership development, collaboration, and community engagement within the JCI community.

“We are thrilled to have successfully gained the hosting rights for the 2024 JCI Malaysia Area North Academy during the 2023 JCI Malaysia Area North Convention,” stated Alan Cheng, 2024 JCI Malaysia Area North Academy Organizing Chairperson. “Our team’s relentless dedication has resulted in a successful event that not only showcases leadership development but also emphasizes the importance of community engagement.”

The 2 days 1 night academy, held at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), featured a carefully curated program focusing on leadership development and team building. Participants engaged in workshops, presentations by esteemed speakers, and interactive sessions designed to empower and equip the members and the board of directors with the skills needed for developing positive community impact.

A key highlight of the event was the successful team-building activities that fostered collaboration and camaraderie among participants. These activities not only enhanced
leadership skills but also promoted a sense of unity and shared purpose, aligning with the 2024 JCI Malaysia Area North Theme, “Unity, Inspire the Next.”

“The success of the 2024 JCI Malaysia Area North Academy is a testament to the great efforts of our dedicated team,” added Stephenie Hew, 2024 JCI Kinta Local President. “Their hard work, commitment, and collaborative spirit have truly made this event a remarkable success.”

Besides having a team who willingly contribute to the academy, JCI Kinta would like to extend its sincere gratitude to Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) for providing the venue for the academy, allowing for the successful conduct of this impactful event. The closing ceremony of the academy isn’t an endpoint; but it marks the beginning of a journey toward better leadership, service, and community impact.

As JCI Kinta reflects on the successful hosting of the academy, the organization looks forward to continuing its mission of leadership development and community impact. The event has not only strengthened networks and skills but also set the stage for future initiatives that will drive positive change within the Kinta Valley.
