My Ipoh was invited to review a new café which has opened up in town! Well not actually new, this café is a branch of the famous Sun Heng Curry Noodles in Canning Garden. This pork and lard free café is called Sedap Café and it is located at No. 40, Jalan Raja Dihilir, Ipoh or more precisely within Banyan Spa.
The best thing about this café is the parking lot, which is large, guarded and can accommodate up to twenty cars at once. The café is spacious and air conditioned, definitely the place to escape during the afternoon heat wave. In addition, there is a private room available at Sedap Café, which has the capacity to seat 10 – 13 people.
The staff are really efficient and the food is very delicious. We were greeted warmly by their attentive staff and were given a table quite quickly. The waiters knew their way around the menu and were ready to suggest tasty additions to your meal. We had the Satay Fried Rice, Fried Sarkot, Roasted Chicken Rice, and the Dry Curry Mee that was recommended by the Chef. Our verdict is that the Curry Mee is an absolute must-eat!! It gets our two thumbs up.
The Satay fried rice was a unique combination meal, with mild fried rice accompanied by two juicy chicken satays smothered in a rich peanut sauce. Yummy!
We were pleasantly surprised with our drinks which consisted of Grass Jelly, Godzilla (Coffee + Milo), Ice Nescafe and Ice Tea. The Grass Jelly was home made and not canned. They were generous with the milo for the Godzilla and the Iced Nescafe and Tea were excellent, with just the proper amount of everything.
They also provide a wide selection of mouth watering homemade nyonya kuih and we left the cafe wishing we had more room in our tummy to explore some of the other dishes on the menu.
Overall, if you’re searching for a nice place to eat with your family or friends, Sedap Café will not disappoint.
