The Perak State Government, through the initiative called “Tuisyen Cikgu Saarani,” has allocated RM500,000 to provide Dental Health Kits for students from the B40, M40, and rural communities. According to YAB Menteri Besar Perak, Dato’ Seri Saarani bin Mohamad, a total of 20,000 units of these kits will be distributed to Year 1 students in 120 schools across Perak starting from this August.

The main objective of this initiative is to promote early dental health care among students and empower them to take responsibility for their oral health. The Dental Health Kits will include toothpaste, toothbrushes, cups, and towels, essential items for maintaining good oral hygiene.

During the inauguration ceremony of the Student Dental Health Kit distribution at the Perak Darul Ridzuan building, Dato’ Seri Saarani emphasized that the government understands the challenges faced by students who require assistance in dental care. The hope is that this effort will reduce and prevent infections while encouraging students to adopt the use of these health kits as part of their routine.

Out of the 20,000 units of Dental Health Kits, 2,000 will be given to the Perak State Education Department (JPN) and 1,500 units will be distributed to 12 District Education Offices (PPD). The selection of students who will receive these kits will be done by the respective schools.

The event was attended by various officials, including the Secretary of the State Government, Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi bin Abdul Rahim; the State Legal Advisor, Dato’ Azmir Shah bin Zainal Abidin; the State Financial Officer, Tuan Mohd Zaki bin Mahyudin; the Chairman of the State Committee on Education, Higher Education, Youth, and Sports, Encik Khairudin bin Abu Hanipah; the Director of JPN Perak, Encik Mohamad Fauzi bin Mahson; and the Director of Perak Children’s Aspiration Centre (PASAK), Encik Aldrin Ng.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of dental care and provide much-needed support to students in this aspect. It is hoped that this effort will benefit those students who require assistance in maintaining good oral health.
