Parents, together with the PIBG, LPS and Alumni of SJKT Kerajaan, have expressed concern over pending road safety improvements near the school, following multiple submissions and discussions over the past year.

A formal request was first submitted on 2 December 2024 to the relevant municipal departments, highlighting that existing speed bumps near the school are low and may be less effective in slowing traffic. Observations by the school community indicate that vehicles continue to travel at relatively high speeds along the stretch, raising safety concerns during peak school hours.

Subsequent engagements were held with the municipal Traffic Division on 5 June 2025 and later with the Mayor’s office on 8 September 2025. While discussions have taken place, the proposed improvements have yet to be implemented. The school’s submission outlines several practical measures, including raising the existing speed bumps, installing solar-powered flashing warning lights, and introducing physical rumble strips to enhance visibility and driver awareness.

School representatives were informed that budget allocations for the year had been fully utilised and that further consideration may take place in the next planning cycle. In the meantime, the school community notes that minor traffic incidents have occurred in the area, reinforcing the need for enhanced preventive measures.

With the new school term in progress, parents and stakeholders are appealing for continued engagement and timely attention to road safety around the school, in the interest of ensuring a safer environment for students, staff and road users.

The community remains hopeful that suitable solutions can be identified and implemented through ongoing cooperation with the relevant authorities.
