In a commendable corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the Rotary Club of Greentown in Ipoh distributed much needed socks to students of the St. Michael’s Institution also known as SMI on Monday.
The presentation ceremony was held at the school’s main hall in the presence of teachers and students.
Wide smiles were seen on the faces of the students as they received their share of their new pair of socks.
Representing the school was their principal, Phoon Kean Loon, V. Ravindran (School Counsellor), Mohammad Abadi Shaari (Senior Assistant) and Azmil Khusaini Syed Justin (Senior Assistant for Curriculum)
Representing the Rotary Club of Greentown was their president Ms Sangari Krishnan, club secretary, Sathiyamoorthy Ramasamy, organizing chairman Francis Vijeyaselvan and committee member, Abirasshiny Pillai.
In all, a total of 2454 pairs of socks were presented to 1,127 students.
Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur Diraja is also sponsoring these socks while the manufacturer of the socks is Masmos Niaga Sdn Bhd based in Ipoh is involved in various CSR activities to benefit the community.
Kudos to the Rotary Club of Greentown and Masmos Niaga for the noble and caring deed.
